On 26 June 2025, RADiANT Convenor and Consultant Psychiatrist, Professor Regi Alexander was part of a panel of three speakers talking on the theme of the nuanced relationship between law and justice when it came to vulnerable people with mental health or neurodevelopmental disorders. Addressing the topic of assisted dying, the talk- focused less on the specifics of the recent Assisted Dying Bill that went through the House of Commons and more on the evolution and impact of similar legislation on vulnerable individuals, in jurisdictions across the world. The session was chaired by Professor Rohit Shankar, University of Plymouth and featured as other speakers Dr Sam Tromans, Associate Professor, University of Leicester and Dr Inder Sawhney, Chair of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability, Royal College of Psychiatrists.
